Test Results

  • - All results – negative or positive – are advised.
  • - Both you and your nominated doctor are notified whether the test submitted was either positive or negative within 30 days of mailing the test to the pathology laboratory.

If a Test is Positive:

A positive test does not conclusively indicate a polyp or cancer. There are many other reasons why human blood was detected and the test was positive. All positive test results should be investigated. Any further investigation or remedial treatment is managed by your own doctor.

If a Test is Negative:

A negative result means there was no human blood detected at the time you did the test. If a bowel condition does not bleed it will not show up in this or any other test. However, a significant number of cancers and pre-cancerous conditions do bleed and may lead to an early diagnosis and more successful treatment.
